Beautiful Week in Tacoma!

HAPPY FRIDAY! How about that weather this week?! It's been absolutely BEAUTIFUL in the Pacific Northwest! I love this time of the year ️

The vlog above is a snapshot of my week. It was a jam-packed week with 18 meetings, several big projects I'm working on, and lots of time spent outside. How was your week?

FIRST HOME ANNIVERSARY

This week marked exactly 3 years since I bought my first home. It was a 2-bedroom modern townhome in one of Tacoma's most popular neighborhoods: 6th Ave. I rented out my 2nd bedroom on Airbnb, which paid my entire mortgage every month. 2 years later, I sold my house for quite a bit more than I purchased it for. I am NOT sharing this to brag, but to give an example of how freaking cool real estate is. I lived in a beautiful home for 2 years for FREE, made money when I sold it, and then reinvested that money into other real estate.

I wholeheartedly believe that real estate is the best way to build wealth and achieve financial freedom. And it is so much easier and more achievable than most people think it is. I am extremely passionate about this stuff. If you ever want to chat or bounce ideas around, I'm your guy!

“You'll Never See a U-Haul Behind a Hearse” - Denzel Washington

We don't get to take our stuff with us when we die! Life is NOT about the stuff that we accumulate, but about the people, memories, and experiences that make life beautiful. Treasure those things instead of worrying about the next thing you're going to purchase!

COLOMBIA

Time for my weekly travel story!  My travel bug is at an all-time high right now.

During one of the last weeks of my study abroad program in Ecuador, a group of us decided to take a weekend trip to Colombia.

Here's what I wrote in my blog post about it: "Despite many attempts to persuade us not to go to Colombia - by our parents, professors, and the American government - …we went to Colombia. And it was incredible. Cartagena is easily one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever seen. With beautiful historic buildings, a castle in the middle of the city, and white-sand beaches, it’s safe to say that we all fell in love with Colombia. My diet for the weekend consisted of coffee, empanadas, and these delicious fried cheese stick things that I’m already craving again. We also crashed a billionaire’s birthday party (and got kicked out but that’s beside the point). 10/10 would recommend and 10/10 will return."

WHAT I’M READING

I'm about halfway through this audiobook by Jon Acuff. It talks about the power of setting realistic goals, avoiding perfectionism, and giving yourself grace. Most people end up giving up on their goals, and then they feel bad about themselves for not following through with what they said they would do. This book provides some useful tricks to help us actually FINISH what we start. One of my favorite tricks so far is making your goals FUN. If your goal is to lose weight or get in shape, that doesn't mean you have to run 5 miles every day if you hate running. Instead, find a physical activity that you actually enjoy and look forward to!

“People are mistaken when they think chasing your dream is a selfish thing to do. As if perhaps being average is an act of humility. As if perhaps wasting the talents you were given is proof that you're a considerate individual..... It's not.” - Jon Acuff
