Celebrating Theory's 4-Year Anniversary

November marks exactly 4 years since we started Theory Real Estate. FOUR YEARS. I have so many things I could say about this crazy journey, but the number one thing I want to say is THANK YOU. Thank you to every single person who has helped us turn this dream into a reality. Thank you to our INCREDIBLE team that inspires me every day. Thank you to our hundreds of clients and referral partners who have trusted us with some of your most important life decisions. Thank you to everyone who has followed along on social media. Thank you to our amazing partners in the real estate industry. It's been an unbelievable 4 years. Here's to the next 40!

Adoption Awareness Month

Although we aren’t able to hold our 3rd Annual Charity Ping Pong Tournament with Anthem Coffee this year, that doesn’t mean that we can’t still make a difference and raise funds for children in the foster care system. There are over 10,000 kids in the child welfare system in Washington state, and each one of them needs a loving family and a forever home. November is Adoption Awareness Month, which means that it’s the perfect time to make a donation to Olive Crest and Amara! These 2 nonprofits are awesome organizations dedicated to helping kids in the foster care system. You can learn more and donate at olivecrest.org and amaraputskidsfirst.org. Can’t wait for next year. Check out the video we made below!

My November Challenge

November is one of my favorite months of the year. It's a month full of good food, spending time with loved ones, and expressing gratitude for the many blessings in our lives. This month, my challenge is to write in my gratitude journal every day. I've set time aside every morning to reflect, write down what I'm thankful for, and start the day with an attitude of gratitude. I've been loving this challenge so far this month! HERE'S the gratitude journal that I've been using. HIGHLY recommend it! (this is not an ad)

Familias de la Esperanza

I had a chance to visit Puerto Vallarta with my family earlier this month and spend a day volunteering at Familias de la Esperanza (Families of Hope). This organization was originally called Children of the Dump, and it was formed to help the hundreds of children and families literally living inside the city dump. My family visited for the first time when I was 5-years-old. It was an unbelievably eye-opening experience that completely rocked my world. I had been hanging out by the pool at our hotel the day before, and now I was witnessing extreme poverty for the first time.

They told us that we are the first people to volunteer since March. There are so many people hurting in this world. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that Covid is a GLOBAL pandemic that affects people from all walks of life all around the world. Makes me totally re-evaluate the things I’ve complained about this year. Perspective is everything!

There are almost a billion people living in poverty around the world. There are people without education, shoes, food, medicine, clean water, and so many other basic necessities. As someone who likes to solve problems, it can feel discouraging how much work still needs to be done. But there is not 1 person or 1 solution that will put an end to extreme poverty. It takes people and organizations all around the world who are committed to making a change. There are SO many things we can all do to make a difference, no matter how small. We can donate, hold fundraisers, volunteer, educate ourselves, spread awareness, and remember to never take what we have for granted.

If you’d like to learn more or donate to Familias de la Esperanza, you can do so at http://familiasdelaesperanza.org/

Real Estate Tip

This is your friendly reminder that you do NOT need a 20% down payment to buy a home. Most first-time homebuyers put 0-5% down. Buying a home is WAY more achievable than most people realize. Don't let fear of the unknown stop you from investing in your future (and your children's future). Real estate is the best way to build wealth, and that all starts with your first home. I won't stop until all my friends know this

"Life's too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don't, and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it." - Dr. Seuss
